Three more cases of enforced disappearances have emerged from Balochistan and Karachi.

According to reports, Pakistani forces allegedly detained Rodain Shakeel, an employee at a petrol pump in Pasni tehsil of Gwadar, on February 11. He was taken from Pasni and moved to an undisclosed location.

Similarly, another Baloch youth, Meraj Imam Bakhsh, a resident of the Shahrak area in Kech, went missing from the Balochistan Hotel in Karachi on February 6. Sources told The Balochistan Post that Meraj had traveled to Karachi with his family for medical treatment when he was forcibly disappeared by personnel of intelligence agencies.

In another incident, Adil Baloch, son of Munir Ahmed, left his home in Hub Chowki, the industrial city of Balochistan, on February 6 and never returned. The family later learned that around 4:30 PM that same evening, he was forcibly disappeared by state intelligence agencies.

His family has lodged an FIR application at the local police station, demanding his safe recovery.

Enforced disappearances are a persistent issue in Balochistan and continue to rise daily. These latest cases bring the total number of reported disappearances to 23 in the past three days. The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) has stated that these frequent incidents are spreading distress among the people and imposing collective punishment on families.

The BYC further asserts that the Baloch nation is facing severe genocide at the hands of the Pakistani state. They have appealed to individuals and organizations worldwide to raise their voices against this oppression and injustice.
