The Chairman of the Baloch National Movement (BNM), Dr. Naseem Baloch, has strongly condemned the systematic targeting of Baloch intellectuals, scholars, and educators. In a statement, he asserted that these attacks are part of a well-planned strategy to suppress the intellectual foundations of the Baloch nation.

Referring to a recent incident in Kech, Dr. Naseem highlighted the broad daylight killing of PhD scholar and education advocate Allah Dad Baloch by alleged proxies of the Pakistani military. The murder sparked widespread protests from the victim’s family and the Baloch community. He said that an assassination attempt on Ustad Sharif Zakir added another grim chapter to the ongoing violence. Zakir had already suffered the enforced disappearance of his son and cousin at the hands of security forces.

“These are not isolated incidents but part of an organized campaign targeting Baloch scholars, teachers, and intellectuals,” said Dr. Naseem. “Figures like Professor Saba Dashtiyari, Professor Abdul Razzaq, Zahid Askani, Ustad Ali Jan, Master Nazeer, and many others have already fallen victim to state oppression.”

Dr. Naseem stressed that the killing of Allah Dad Baloch and the attack on Ustad Sharif Zakir are not random acts of violence but a continuation of a deliberate effort to erase educated voices advocating for justice and freedom. He accused Pakistani military-backed operatives of systematically eliminating Baloch intellectuals to create an environment of fear and silence dissent.

He further stated that the policy of targeting Baloch educators and scholars is a direct assault on the intellectual and cultural fabric of Balochistan. “The goal is to cripple the Baloch society academically and intellectually, ensuring that future generations remain deprived of education, awareness, and national identity,” he added.

Expressing disappointment over international inaction, Dr. Naseem criticized the United Nations and human rights organizations for their silence. “Pakistan sees this silence as a green light to intensify its oppression. The international community’s indifference has emboldened a state that continues to commit crimes against humanity,” he said.

The BNM has demanded an immediate, transparent, and independent global investigation into these attacks and the broader state-led oppression in Balochistan. Dr. Naseem urged the world to recognize the gravity of the situation and hold the perpetrators accountable in international courts.

“This is not just a fight for basic rights but a battle for national survival, identity, and the future of the Baloch people,” he asserted. “We are fighting against a state that serves as a hub for regional and global terrorism. The world must understand that silence in the face of oppression is complicity. We need global solidarity and support in this struggle.”
