Two cousins who were allegedly forcibly disappeared have been found—one dead and the other critically injured—in the Panjgur district of Balochistan.

According to reports, the victims, identified as Shukrullah s/o Salam and Nadeem s/o Sharaf, both residents of the Rakshan area in Panjgur, were detained by paramilitary Frontier Corps (FC) personnel at a checkpoint in the Washbood area of Panjgur on February 3rd this year. On Friday, Shukrullah was found dead, while Nadeem was discovered in critical condition in the Surab area of Panjgur.

Local sources, speaking to The Balochistan Post on condition of anonymity, stated that the two were thrown from a white Surf vehicle with black-tinted windows, a type of vehicle often associated with intelligence agencies. Witnesses confirmed that Shukrullah had already succumbed to his injuries at the time of discovery, with visible signs of severe torture on his body. Nadeem, barely alive, was rushed for medical treatment.

The victims’ families have allegedly been threatened and warned against sharing pictures or speaking out about the incident. They were reportedly pressured to bury the deceased quietly. Government officials have neither confirmed nor commented on the incident.

It is important to note that enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings are not uncommon in Balochistan, with cases continuing to rise. International human rights organizations and Baloch activists frequently accuse Pakistani military forces and intelligence agencies of being behind such incidents—allegations that Pakistani authorities consistently deny or refuse to address.
