Following his disappearance, his family staged a sit-in protest in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office, protesting against his abduction. The protest was called off after negotiations and assurance from the Deputy Commissioner of his safe return.
The body of Hayat has been moved from Panjgur to Shaheed Fida Ahmed Chowk in Turbat, where the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC), along with the victim’s family, will hold a sit-in protest. it’s worth mentioning that BYC’s protest camp against the killing of MPhil student Allah Dad Baloch has been ongoing at Fida Shaheed Chowk for the past three days.
The incident has sparked outrage and condemnation from human rights organizations and activists.
PAANK, the human rights department of the Baloch National Movement (BNM), condemned the incident in a post on X, stating that the systematic use of enforced disappearances and extrajudicial executions is a grave violation of international human rights law. “Pakistan must fulfill its obligations to protect the right to life and due process,” PAANK stated.
