A third protest against enforced disappearances took place in Chagai on Thursday, organized by the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) as part of its ongoing campaign, “Breaking the Silence: Standing Against Enforced Disappearances.”
The BYC said that its Chagai Zone organized a protest rally from Lashkarap to Mohammad Hasni Market, where participants protested “the oppression of the Baloch people, Baloch genocide, and enforced disappearances.” In a statement on X, the BYC said the rally aimed to draw attention to “state oppression and atrocities” faced by the Baloch people.
Residents, including women and children, held photographs of missing persons and called for their immediate recovery.
This marks the third protest organized by BYC in Chagai, following previous rallies in Chagai city and Nokundi. The BYC’s “Breaking the Silence” protests have also been held in Karachi, Hub Chowki, Khuzdar, Turbat, Panjgur, Kharan, Quetta, Nushki, Dalbandin, and other areas across Balochistan.
