Students at the University of Makran in Panjgur held a press conference to address the severe lack of basic facilities at their institution. The students voiced their concerns about the unavailability of essential services, highlighting the absence of cold drinking water, which forces them to purchase water from outside the campus.
They also pointed out that during power outages, the university does not operate generators, causing significant discomfort in the extreme heat. Furthermore, they complained about the lack of proper motorcycle parking and inadequate canteen facilities. They said that the absence of projectors in classrooms adds to their difficulties, making it challenging for students to give presentations.
The students noted that outsiders frequently enter the university premises without being questioned, adding to their concerns about security and management. They said that despite repeatedly informing the university administration about these issues, their concerns have not been taken seriously, and they are often threatened into silence.
The students have appealed to the Governor of Balochistan to address these fundamental issues and provide the necessary facilities to improve their educational environment.
