A missing person has been released, while new reports of enforced disappearances have emerged from Balochistan’s district Kalat.

According to reports, Mehrwan Baloch, who allegedly went missing from Balicha, has been released and has returned home. Family sources confirmed that Mehrwan was picked up from his house a few days ago and was released today.

However, last night, Pakistani forces allegedly detained an eighteen-year-old Baloch youth from the Balicha Zamran area of the Kech district. The detainee has been identified as Ubaid, son of Meer Jalal Khan.

In a separate incident, Pakistani forces have reportedly detained and disappeared three individuals from Kalat. The missing persons have been identified as Abdul Rahim, son of Kunnar Khan Lehri; Samandar Khan, son of Pasand Khan Lehri; and a 13-year-old boy, Beebgar, son of Deen Muhammad Mengal. The three were taken from the Mukhi area while traveling in a vehicle.

Missing Abdul Rahim, Samand Khan, and Beebgar

According to the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) and the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC), the number of enforced disappearances in Balochistan is continuously increasing. While some missing persons are released after months or years of detention, there are ongoing reports of new forced disappearances from various areas of the region.
