In a series of incidents across Balochistan, eight people have died and 28 others have been injured in various districts over the past two days.
In Khuzdar, a serious collision between two passenger buses occurred late on June 11. The accident took place between Chamrok and Jhalawan Complex as the buses attempted to avoid a tractor.
Medical teams responded swiftly, treating the injured at the Trauma Center in Khuzdar before transferring them to the District Headquarters Hospital. The collision left 21 passengers injured and caused significant disruption in the area.
In Quetta, a tragic accident claimed the lives of three children near Shams Mosque on Haji Ghaibi Road when a tractor ran over them. The driver fled the scene, prompting police to launch an investigation to apprehend the suspect.
In a separate incident in the Sariab Killi Kamalu area of Quetta, Shahid Ahmed Sumalani was shot and killed by unidentified gunmen. The attackers escaped, and police are conducting a search for those responsible.
Additionally, in the Uthal area of Lasbela district, the body of an unidentified person was discovered near Zero Point. Edhi Ambulance services transported the body to Uthal Civil Hospital. Hospital officials said that the body had been there for about three days, and efforts are underway to identify the deceased.
Meanwhile, in Balochistan’s Panjgur district, two separate incidents resulted in three fatalities and injuries to seven people, including a woman.
In the Tar-office area, armed individuals broke into a house, killing Abdul Baqi and wounding his wife. Local sources suggest that the attack was part of a robbery. With Eid approaching, there has been a noticeable rise in robbery incidents across Balochistan. Nationalist groups allege that these incidents often involve members of “Death Squads” who are supported by the Pakistani military and intelligence agencies.
Later, in the Sardok area, a collision between a Mazda truck and a pickup vehicle resulted in the deaths of Abdul Qayyum and Abdul Sattar. Six others were injured and taken to Panjgur Teaching Hospital for treatment.
