In Balochistan’s Khuzdar district, a series of coordinated attacks occurred on Tuesday night as unidentified assailants targeted both a Frontier Corps (FC) camp and a police vehicle. The initial assault on the FC camp involved intense gunfire and explosions.
Shortly after the FC camp was attacked, a police vehicle rushing to the scene was struck by a separate explosion, resulting in injuries to several cops, including Maqbool Ahmed Mosyani, the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) Khuzdar’s in-charge.
Officials reported that unknown motorcyclists launched a grenade attack on the CIA vehicle in the Jhalawan complex area, injuring two personnel, including a senior officer.
Following the blast, Pakistani forces, including police units, arrived at the scene and transported the injured to Teaching Hospital Khuzdar, for medical treatment.
Meanwhile on Wednesday, the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for the attacks. According to BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch, the attacks occurred yesterday, resulting in casualties among the “occupying” forces.
The first attack targeted security posts of the Pakistani military near Bazgir using grenade launchers and automatic weapons. “As a result, one enemy personnel was killed, and two others were injured”, BLA stated.
As per the BLA statement, following the initial assault, two police vehicles arrived at the scene. BLA fighters then targeted one of these vehicles belonging to the CIA with a remote-controlled improvised explosive device (IED). The explosion caused injuries to two CIA officers, including the notable figure Musiani, and inflicted significant damage to their vehicle.
The spokesperson for BLA asserted that their organization takes responsibility for both attacks. He further emphasized that such actions will persist against the Pakistani military and its collaborators.
The BLA’s claim highlights the ongoing insurgency in Balochistan, where separatist groups continue to challenge the authority of the Pakistani state.
