Several regions in Balochistan are gripped by an intense heatwave, with temperatures soaring to 49°C in multiple cities.
The heatwave continues to hit Balochistan, with Sibi experiencing a scorching 49°C. The unprecedented heat is setting new records, breaking several decades-old temperature records across Balochistan in the month of May.
The entire region is feeling the brunt of the severe heatwave. Today, Quetta recorded a temperature of 38°C, but the highest temperature was observed in Sibi, where the mercury hits to 49°C.
According to the Meteorological Department, Chaghi, Dalbandain, and Taftan also experienced extreme heat, with temperatures recorded at 48°C due to the hot winds blowing in the region.
Reports indicate that the extreme heat in various plains of interior Balochistan has led to power outages, severely disrupting daily life in Naseerabad, Sohbatpoor, Dhadar, and Bolan.
