Balochistan, a region enduring the challenge of enforced disappearances for more than two decades, persists in confronting the harsh reality that profoundly affects its residents. Baloch nationalists, activists, and human rights organizations have consistently attributed abductions and extrajudicial killings to Pakistani intelligence agencies and security forces. Despite the compelling evidence presented by these groups, the Pakistani government steadfastly denies any involvement.
In this report, The Balolchistan Post (TBP) details the cases of individuals who experienced ‘forced disappearances,’ purportedly involving Pakistani forces, throughout February, 2024.
Unveiling the Realities
The Balochistan Post diligently chronicled numerous instances of enforced disappearances occurring in various regions of Balochistan during this critical timeframe. The compiled narratives underscore the gravity of the situation, revealing a distressing tally of 33 individuals who vanished under mysterious circumstances, allegedly at the hands of Pakistani security forces. While a glimmer of hope emerged for some families, as 28 of the disappeared individuals safely returned home, bringing a sense of relief.
