In Khuzdar, a family has staged a protest blocking the road outside the Assistant Commissioner’s Office in Naal, demanding action against Younus Hassan. Hassan, a former Education Officer and SST teacher in Gresha, is accused of forcibly marrying a minor, identified as Samreena, “without her consent.”

The family alleges that Samreena, reportedly 15, was kidnapped by Hassan and forcibly married, leading them to seek the filing of a First Information Report (FIR) against him. Despite their efforts, the police have yet to officially lodge the FIR, although an application for it has been submitted.

According to the family, Younus kidnapped Samreena, the minor daughter of a widow from the Girisha area, under the guise of offering her educational opportunities, only to forcibly marry her.

The incident briefly gained public attention following a press conference at the Khuzdar Press Club. However, coverage of the event was reportedly removed from the press club’s social media platforms.

A source, who wished to remain anonymous, told The Balochistan Post that the accused has significant local influence, possibly backed by government-affiliated individuals, which may have led to the removal of the press conference coverage.

In a video statement, Bassaran, Samreena’s mother, highlighted her daughter’s age and the deceitful circumstances that led to the marriage. “My daughter, only fifteen, was promised education but was instead forcibly married,” she revealed, noting that Younus’s familial ties had initially misled her into trusting him.

Recent updates indicate that Samreena Baloch has been placed in the custody of a tribal chief in Khuzdar, while Younus Hassan is reportedly being held by the police at an undisclosed location.

Bassaran expressed her concerns to a local news outlet, criticizing the decision to place her daughter in the chieftain’s custody instead of allowing her to return home. She has appealed to the public for support in ensuring her daughter’s safe return.
