Baloch missing persons’ families and supporters continued their protest for the 5362nd day in front of the Quetta Press Club on Monday. They were joined by families of Baloch missing persons from Turbat and National Party leaders Haji Niaz Ahmed, Ali Muhammad, and others who expressed solidarity with their cause.

VBMP Vice-chairman Mama Qadeer Baloch addressed the gathering and said that the Baloch movement has become a reality because of the sacrifices of Baloch ‘martyrs’, the advocacy campaigns at the national level, the massive public support for the Baloch civil rights movement, and the international diplomacy for the Baloch cause. He said that the movement has reached a critical stage where people from all walks of life should join hands and play their role in the movement.

He said that the Pakistani state is using its entire military apparatus to commit Baloch genocide and to forcibly disappear and kill the Baloch activists and workers. He said that to resist the Pakistani state, the Baloch need to unite at a common front and also seek support from the international community.

He said that he fears that the ‘state-sponsored oppression’ will intensify in the next few months. He said that the authorities have secretly decided to launch a bloody military operation in Balochistan, and they have already begun it from the Bolan and Makran region, where they are reportedly abducting women and children. He said that the mountainous regions of Makran have also witnessed an alarming advancement from security forces, supported by gunship helicopters and surveillance drones.
