In Balochistan, two policemen were killed when unidentified assailants opened fire in Turbat and Chaman during the last 24 hours.

According to reports, unidentified bike-borne individuals opened fire on the regional office of the Election Commission in Turbat city, killing a policeman posted outside the office on the spot. The attackers escaped unhurt.

Soon after the incident, the police reached the spot and launched an investigation. The deceased has been identified as Nimroz Son of Sher Muhammad, a resident of Meeri Kalag in Kech district.

In another similar incident, unidentified armed men ambushed a patrolling vehicle of paramilitary levies forces in Chaman district on Wednesday.

According to reports, a Levies official was killed and a few others were injured when gunmen opened fire on a patrolling vehicle of Levies forces at Killi Taki Bypass in Chaman district. After the attack, the armed men managed to escape from the spot.

The injured officers were shifted to a nearby hospital for medical assistance, while the security forces started a search operation in the area. The motives behind the attacks are yet to be ascertained.
