Iranian government hanged four people, including a women accused of links to Isreal Mossad spy agency in Iran’s northwestern province on Friday morning.
According to the Mezan News Agency, the Iranian Judiciary mentioned that suspects had connections with Israel’s Mossad intelligence service and were involved in the “sabotage” of the country. The three men were identified as Vafa Hanareh, Aram Omari and Rahman Parhazo, while the woman was named as Nasim Namazi.
A “shadow war” has been going on between Iran and Israel for the past few years. Iran claims Israel is carrying out a series of attacks on its nuclear efforts. However, Israel has neither confirmed nor denied these allegations.
In the background of this “shadow war”, the Tehran government has executed four more people on Friday. Iran also executed a man in mid-December. He was accused of working for the Israeli intelligence agency in Sistan-Baluchistan province, bordering Pakistan.
According to Iran’s semi-official Tasnim news agency, a total of 10 criminals were involved in the trial, but it is not yet clear whether the others will also face execution. However, details of the case were not provided by the Iranian authorities.
Iran’s state news agency IRNA posted a nearly eight-minute video showing the men confessing to alleged cooperation with a Mossad officer in neighboring Turkey, who was using two names at the same time.
According to Iranian officials, their mission included kidnapping, threatening, setting fire to the vehicles and homes of targets, and stealing their cellphones. It has been reported that Iranian intelligence agencies were monitoring this network for about four months. The video shows that he was arrested when he was being transferred from a neighboring country to Iran.
In the video, an unidentified youth is shown saying, “They were training us for big jobs.” However, this video and the characters involved in it cannot be independently verified. On the other hand, Israel has not yet responded to these Iranian accusations.
