The toll of fatalities continues to rise as havoc-wreaking monsoon rains persist in Balochistan. It is estimated that at least 14 lives have been tragically lost in the wake of the relentless downpours.

The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has released a comprehensive report detailing the extent of the damages inflicted by the monsoon rains in Balochistan. According to this report, a total of 14 individuals have lost their lives, with the victims including two children who were tragically swept away by floodwaters in Loralai.

The PDMA’s report highlights that the heavy rains have resulted in three deaths in Loralai, two in both Zhob and Naseerabad, and one each in Awaran, Qila Saifullah, Khuzdar, Dera Bugti, Pishin, Kech, and Jhal Magsi.

Moreover, the report outlines that in addition to the fatalities, 14 people have sustained severe injuries, and a staggering total of 332 houses have been completely destroyed, with an additional 334 houses suffering partial damage due to the relentless rains across the Balochistan. The widespread devastation also includes the loss of 8 kilometers of roads and damage to 320 solar panels due to the torrential rains.
