Several Goths (rural communities) in Retalara, Uthal, the district headquarters of Lasbela, are currently grappling with a gastroenteritis outbreak. The outbreak emerged on social media on Friday night, prompting swift action.
In response, Uthal’s DHO Abdul Hameed Baloch, and DSM PPHI, Rehan Hameed Baloch, mobilized a team of medical and paramedical staff. The team was promptly dispatched to the affected Goths, including Ali Muhammad Baloch Goth, Sher Muhammad Ganga Goth, Bilal KhasKheli Goth, and Retalara.
Upon arrival, the team examined around 72 individuals. A significant number of them, being in a critical condition, were immediately transferred to the District Headquarter Hospital, Uthal, for further treatment.
DHO Dr. Abdul Hameed Baloch and DSM Rehan Hameed Baloch reported their teams’ swift response, stating, “Upon receiving information about the outbreak, we immediately assembled a medical team. They initiated treatment and collected samples.”
They have since declared the situation under control. Both DHO Dr. Abdul Hameed Baloch and DSM Rehan Hameed Baloch expressed confidence in the Department of Health and PPHI Lasbela’s efforts to fully contain the outbreak.
