The Pakistani security forces have reportedly “abducted” four youngsters from Panjgur and Quetta during raids and moved them to unknown locations. The condition and whereabouts of the detainees remain unknown.

According to the details, the Pakistani security forces reportedly raided a house belonging to Haji Noorullah Sarparra in the Faizabad area of Quetta and forcibly disappeared two youngsters. The two youngsters were identified as Farhad s/o Noorullah Sarparra and Saqib Zaib s/o Haji Nisar Sarparra. The locals told The Balochistan Post that the forces also exercised violence on the householders.

The forces reportedly raided the house of Haji Nisar Sarparra and forcefully abducted his other son, Haroon Waleed Sarparra, and moved him to an unknown.

It is pertinent to mention that the Pakistani forces have reportedly apprehended more than ten individuals from the Sarparra family during several raids in Mastung, Nushki and Quetta. All of them remain missing to this day.

The Pakistani forces reportedly detained an individual identified as Muhammad Hashim during a raid at his house in Sui, Dera Bugti, on February 6 and moved him to an unknown location. According to his family members, six vehicles loaded with Pakistani forces came for the raid and surrounded the house. The family also revealed that the detainee is a former soldier in the Pakistani Army.

The security forces have also detained several individuals in other areas of Balochistan. In the Gokdaan area of Turbat, the Pakistani forces detained an individual named Naeem Baloch and his conditions remain unknown. The forces also detained Nazeer Rehmat, the brother of the General Secretary of Baloch Students Organization, Mama Azeem Baloch.

In Nushki, the forces detained Sadiq s/o Aziz Sarparra, the brother of missing Mustafa Sarparra. The forces also detained four other individuals identified as Waheed, Sami, Fareed and Asim.

In a separate development, the Pakistani forces allegedly detained two brothers, Akram and Ahmed, from the Washbod area of Panjgur on Monday night and moved them to an unknown location. The forces had also “abducted” four other individuals from different areas of Panjgur. They were identified as Malik Meeran, Balach, Aqeel and Shabir.

Malik Meeran is a social activist hailing from Panjgur. He was critical of the Pakistani state and its powerful military and their role in the “insecurity” in Balochistan. He used to openly criticize the Pakistani security forces on social media and it is widely believed that these social media posts contributed to his alleged enforced disappearance.

The Pakistani forces also allegedly detained two other individuals, identified as Rajab and Basit, from Panjgur and moved them to an unknown location. Their condition remains unknown. The forces also “forcibly disappeared” Yahya Raees s/o Haji Maqbool Ahmad and moved him to an undisclosed location.

In another development in Khuzdar on Tuesday, the Pakistanis security forces detained Hafeez Baloch, a final-year MPhil student in the Physics Department of the Quaid-e-Azam University in Islamabad. Hafeez Baloch had returned to Khuzdar on the holidays when he was whisked away, allegedly by the Pakistani forces. Local sources have said that Hafeez was “abducted” from the science academy in Khuzdar where he used to teach in his spare time. His students were present at the scene and witnessed the episode as Hafeez was shoved into a vehicle and taken away.

After the recent attacks by the Baloch Liberation Army on the FC headquarters in Panjgur and Noshki, the Pakistani security forces have reportedly raided several houses and detained several individuals. Locals say that the forces have been harsh in their treatment of the local population. In Panjgur, the forces allegedly shot killed a young student identified as Ehtisham Sarwar when he was on his way to the bus terminal to receive a guest. There are also reports that the forces abducted and subsequently killed two individuals for breaking the curfew during the attack on the FC camp in Panjgur, but these claims are yet to be substantiated due to the internet blackout in Panjgur.
