Kidnappers killed Awami National Party (ANP) leader, Malik Obaidullah Kasi, his body was found on Thursday.

According to family and party sources, the kidnappers have killed Malik Kasi in captivity. The dead body of the abducted ANP leader was found in the Shabo head area of Saranan Tehsil of Pishin district, Levies sources said.

The dead body of the ANP leader shifted to district headquarters hospital Pishin. “The dead body is almost four days old”, hospital sources said.

A large number of ANP workers reached the hospital and chanted full-throated slogans against the government. They also blocked the Quetta-Pishin road to vent their anger.

Armed kidnappers had abducted ANP leader from the Katir area of Kuchlak on June 26. Party legislators including Asghar Khan Achakzai and Zamarak Khan Achakzai reached civil hospital after the recovery of the dead body.

A large number of ANP leaders and tribal elders reached the residence of Malik Obaidullah Kasi after the recovery of his dead body. Family sources said the kidnappers had demanded ransom for the release of Obaidullah Kasi. The family had refused to pay the ransom amount.

ANP had also staged protest demonstrations against the kidnapping of its leader. The killing of Malik Obaidullah Kasi sparked protests in various parts of Quetta city. ANP activists burnt tires at main Manan Chowk and Almo Chowk against the incident. They strongly criticized the government and police for their failure to ensure the unhurt recovery of Kasi.
