Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) claimed to have arrested a target killer in Mastung district of Balochistan, on Tuesday.

According to the CTD Spokesperson, the accused was involved in the targeted killing of two policemen in Mastung on May 10, this year.

As per CTD sources, an intelligence-based operation was conducted in Mastung and the “target killer” Abdul Hayee was arrested. CTD also claimed that it has recovered a 9 mm pistol, 2 hand grenades from the possession of the accused.

A first information report (FIR) was lodged against the “target killer” in CTD Police Station in Quetta. An investigation team was formed to interrogate the culprit, the Spokesman said. CTD said it has also launched an investigation into the targeted killings in Mastung and more arrests are expected.

It is to mention that the so called Islamic State (IS) had claimed the responsibility for the attack against police in Mastung.
