A hand grenade attack was carried out on a “state-backed” man in Kech district of Balochistan, on Sunday.

According to reports, some unidentified armed men attacked Sameer Sabzal, close to his home in Sangani sar area of Turbat. However, no casualties have been reported in the attack.

Later on Sunday, releasing a statement to the media, a Baloch armed group the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) claimed responsibility for the attack.

Major Gohram Baloch, the spokesperson for BLF said in the statement: “last night our fighters attacked Sameer Sabzal near his house with a hand grenade in Turbat city.

Mr Baloch further said that, Sameer Sabzal and other members of his gang are involved in many social crimes. Being the state agent and spying on Baloch activists, Sabzal has always been exempted from all kind of crimes including theft and robbery despite solid evidences, he added.

It should be noted that, last year in Dannuk area of Turbat, a woman named Malik Naaz was killed in a firing incident and her daughter Bramsh was injured. Sameer Sabzal was accused of the mentioned tragedy by the victim family and locals. Recently a court in Turbat sentenced four of the accused but acquitted Mr Sameer Sabzal.
