A bomb blast in Sibi area of Balochistan has killed four personnel of Pakistani paramilitary forces and wounded five others.
According to details, Frontier Corps (FC) was targeted in an improvised explosive device (IED) attack by unidentified men in Sangan area, a rugged mountain range between Sibi and Harnai.
The incident took place when FC personnel along with bomb disposal team were reportedly clearing the way for a new checkpoint.
Authorities have confirmed the deaths of four FC personnel in the attack
According to an official of the Sibi district administration, the incident took place in Sangan, a hilly area on the outskirts of Sibi district in Balochistan, where FC Sibi Scouts-154 wing’s personnel were targeted.
However, Four personnel of Frontier Corps (FC) were killed and five others were injured in the attack. The injured were airlifted to Quetta.
Meanwhile, the security forces cordoned off the area and conducted a search operation after the incident.
No armed group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack, although the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) is active in the area.
Similarly, some armed men attacked a check-post set up to protect the personnel engaged in erecting fence at Abdoi, near Iranian Boarder in Kech district of Balochistan.
Authorities have not yet released any details about the casualties. However, a Baloch armed group known as Baloch Republican Army (BRA) has claimed responsibility for the attack.
Beebagr Baloch, the spokesman for the BRA said in a press release that last evening (Tuesday) sarmachars (Freedom fighters) attacked the personnel engaged in erecting a border fence at Hari Kaur. The attack was carried out with sniper rifles and automatic weapons. The attack resulted in killing two technical engineers and two army personnel, spokesman claimed.
