Pakistan’s military intelligence officials demanded 2 million Pakistani rupees for the release of our missing youth, which is beyond our means, family said.
According to the information received by TBP, Zakir son of Muhammad Asa, a resident of Sarkan, a town in western Balochistan, was reported missing eight months ago by Pakistani intelligence personnel from Panjgur city.
According to information received from locals about Zakir son of Muhammad Asa, that he was a driver of someone else’s vehicle functioning in the oil business in Panjgur and the border area.
After Zakir’s disappearance, his family made several attempts to secure his release in Panjgur. According to the family, they finally found out that Zakir was in the custody of MI, a Pakistani intelligence agency and they are demanding Rs 2 million in return for Zakir’s release.
“We have repeatedly appealed that we belong to a very poor family and it is out of our reach to pay Rs 2 million but despite this, Zakir is still not being released.
It should be noted that earlier this, such cases of Pakistani intelligence personnel taking ransom for the recovery of missing persons have been reported in Balochistan.
The mother of Hafizullah Mohammad Hassani, who went missing from Dalbandain area of Balochistan, on August 30, 2016, had said in a protest camp in front of Quetta Press Club on November 17, 2018 that her son was abducted by Frontier Corps (FC) Major Naveed, from Killi Qasim Khan town.
The mother of the missing Hafeez Mohammad Hassani had said at the time that after the disappearance of her son, Major Naveed of Pakistan army summoned them to Quetta and demanded Rs 6.8 million in exchange for her son’s release.
According to reports the major didn’t release the boy even after he was paid off by the family.
Later in August 2019, the accused major received life sentence for abducting a Baloch youngster for ransom.
Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa confirmed the sentence of life imprisonment awarded to a serving major for misusing his authority, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced in a statement on Tuesday 20 May.
Despite the evidence found against the major and he received life sentence, the victim remains disappeared.
