According to a statement issued by Dr Rahim Khan Babar, spokesman for the Young Doctors Association Balochistan, the health department has initiated retaliation instead of resolving the problems. Practical steps are not yet taken on the decisions made by the Government Negotiation Committee and the Young Doctors.
He says the young doctors trusted the negotiating committee by postponing the protests in the wider public interest, but unfortunately the health department is making every effort to thwart the talks. No actions has been taken by the committee set up to investigate the violence against young doctors. Health department is creating dissatisfaction between the Young Doctors and the negotiating committee by not taking serious the issues related to hospitals and doctors.
The spokesperson added that in the present situation, even in the presence of an incompetent and utterly unsuccessful health department, they are performing their duties with full uniformity.
The spokesperson urged the Chief Minister Balochistan to take immediate notice of the current situation and ensure that the decisions made between the negotiating committee and the young doctors are implemented immediately.
