Trucks carrying marble were attacked by armed assailants near Noshki last night.
According to the details received by the Balochistan Post, Marble trucks were attacked by armed men when they were carrying marble from Noshki district.
The trucks were attacked on RCD highway near Kili Jan Baig area of Noshki district. As the result of firing, the driver sustained bullet injuries, who later succumbed to his wounds.
Truck driver was identified as Abdul Ghafoor S/O Muhammad Hashim, a resident of Dedar area of Noshki district.
Balochistan has witnessed a decade-long insurgency for the independence of the region. Militants often target army check-posts and projects that were set-up for the exploration of natural resources.
Baloch Republican Army, an insurgent group in Balochistan, claimed responsibility for the attack on trucks.
“We had warned the company to stop exploitation of Baloch resources. They export marble to Punjab and then to foreign countries”, said Sarbaz Baloch, a spokesperson for BRA.
Sarbaz Baloch claimed that they had attacked two trucks carrying marble from Balochistan, and killed a driver in the attack.
“Our attacks will continue unless the exploitative companies leave Balochistan and stop looting our resources”, warned Sarbaz.
