Resolute Support confirmed the incident and said the gunman had been immediately killed by other Afghan forces
One US service member was killed and another was wounded in an apparent insider attack in Kabul on Saturday, Resolute Support (RS) confirmed.
RS said in a statement that initial reports indicate the attacker was a member of the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces.
“Initial reports also indicate the attacker was immediately killed by other Afghan Forces,” read the statement.
The two US service members were medically evacuated to Bagram Airfield and the wounded service member was undergoing medical treatment and is in stable condition.
RS also said the incident was under investigation.
