A central leader of Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M), Haji Lashkari Raisani, has said that Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan has assured the formation of a committee over the party’s six-point agenda.
One of the main points in BNP’s six demands is regarding the recovery of all forcibly disappeared persons and putting an immediate stop on the practice. However, disappearances have continued in Balochistan. Some analysts argue that there has in fact been a dramatic surge in the number of people going missing.
Talking to a private Pakistani news channel, Raisani said all political parties in the province and at the Centre must unite against the “interference of hidden powers in the administrative affairs”.
With regard to Nawab Aslam Raisani’s victory in the by-election, he claimed that Aslam Raisani would join the opposition parties to lead the movement for the rights of the people, reported Express Tribune.
Raisani said the financial reserves of Balochistan were in surplus during Aslam Raisani’s government in the province. He alleged that the previous regime looted the public money and kept the province deprived of development.
Referring to the July 25 general election, he said free and fair elections were the only way out of the financial crisis but the mandate of political parties was ‘stolen’.
