A ‘massive’ military operation has been launched in various areas of district Mastung, reports coming from the area suggest.
According to local TBP correspondents and other sources, ground troops of Pakistan Army have cordoned off many areas between Mastung and Kalat districts that include Dilband, Siyah, Johan and other areas.
Pakistani troops also have aerial support of gunship helicopters during the operation.
Local reports suggest that entry and exit points of many localities have been closed down by the security forces.
According to some reports, the operation is simultaneously being carried out in urban as well as rural areas.
Some sources also cited unconfirmed reports of heavy shelling in the area, however, no verified details of loss of life could be received by TBP.
The media wing of Pakistan Army has also not disclosed details or the intended target of the military operation.
Many military operations and raids have been carried out in the area in past too.
In one such operation in 2016, Balochistan’s then Home Minister Sarfaraz Bugti had claimed that Baloch leader Mir Abdul Nabi Bangulzai had been killed along with 34 other militants. However, later Mr. Bangulzai had appeared in a video rubbishing the claims of the government and confirming that innocent men, women and children from a nomad family had died in the military offensive.
