Websites of multiple departments of the Government of Pakistan, including the Establishment Division, the law ministry, Ministry of Inter Provincial Cooperation, Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Information Technology were hacked on Monday, news outlets reported.

In place of the homepages of the compromised websites, users were shown a black screen with “Hacked by LulzSec India” and “Happy Independence Day – 15 August” written over them. Screenshots of the defaced websites were posted by multiple users on social media.
