Director of Military Intelligence in Balochistan, Colonel Sohail, has been killed during an intelligence based operation in Quetta.

According to information received by The Balochistan Post, Colonel Sohail, a senior serving officer of Pakistani military, was killed along with 4 policemen during a raid on a house in killi Almas in capital city Quetta.

The operation was allegedly carried out against members of Lashkar-e-Jhangvi. Security personnel met with high resistance and a fierce exchange of gunfire took place during the operation. Both sides suffered heavy losses.

According to latest information, a senior member of Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, Salman Badini has also been killed in the operation.

Lashkar-e-Jhangvi has been involved in various attacks against members of Hazara community.
