The Balochistan Post has learned from reliable sources that the Pakistani security forces have initiated a significant military operation in the district of Nushki, Balochistan. The operation, which began on Wednesday, involves extensive troop movements supported by gunship helicopters targeting mountainous regions.

Details of the operation remain undisclosed by the security forces. However, local observations of increased military activity in Nushki suggest preparations were underway days before the operation’s launch.

This military action follows a severe incident on April 13, orchestrated by the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), a group advocating for Balochistan’s independence. The BLA blocked the main highway in Nushki, scrutinized vehicles, and executed nine individuals identified from a bus, alleging them to be Pakistani operatives.

The BLA asserts that it recovered SIM and identity cards from these individuals, which confirmed that they were Pakistani intelligence agents. In response to the attack, the Balochistan government and security officials have implemented new Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) along the Quetta-Taftan route. These SOPs have been met with resistance from local transporters and bus operators, claiming significant disruption to their daily operations.

As a result, transport services across Balochistan have ceased in protest against the new SOPs, with transporters threatening an indefinite strike unless the government addresses their concerns.
