Five people, including a 16-year-old student, have reportedly been forcibly disappeared from different parts of Balochistan, while four previously disappeared persons have been recovered and returned home.

According to reports, Abrar Baloch, son of Qadir Baloch, a 16-year-old student, was allegedly detained and forcibly disappeared by personnel of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) in Mastung at around 1:00am on 17 August 2026.

In Shadi Kaur, Pasni, two farmers, Rashid Baloch, 38, son of Qadir Bakhsh, and Lal Baloch, 36, son of Musa, were allegedly detained and forcibly disappeared by Frontier Corps (FC) personnel from their homes between 1:00pm and 2:00pm on 30 August.

In Mangochar, Kalat, Altaf Baloch, son of Khan Mohammad, a shopkeeper, was allegedly detained by FC personnel from his shop at around 11:00am on 3 September 2026. His whereabouts remain unknown.

Similarly, Baba Jan, son of Mohammad Jan, a 27-year-old taxi driver, was allegedly detained and forcibly disappeared by CTD and Military Intelligence (MI) personnel from Killi Qambrani in Quetta at around 1:00pm on 10 February 2026.

Meanwhile, four previously disappeared persons have been recovered from different areas.

Jameel, son of Iqbal, who had reportedly been forcibly disappeared from Dasht, Kech, on 8 September, was recovered from Turbat on 13 September.

Hafiz Jameel Ahmed, son of Chatta Khan, who had reportedly been detained from Manojan Road in Quetta on 9 September, was recovered from Quetta on 12 September.

Two doctors, Dr Jamsher Baloch, son of Gangozar Baloch, and Dr Mahir Mazar, son of Mazar Baloch, who had reportedly been forcibly disappeared from the Apsar area of Turbat on 8 September, were also recovered from Turbat on 13 September.

Reports of enforced disappearances continue to emerge from different parts of Balochistan, though many cases are not reported promptly due to alleged state pressure, fear and other obstacles. Families and rights groups say the actual number of missing persons may be higher than reported, with some cases emerging only after considerable delay.

According to the Human Rights Council of Balochistan (HRCB), 105 cases of enforced disappearance were reported in July, while the organisation documented 63 such cases in June.

Pakistani authorities had not issued a statement on the latest reported disappearances at the time of publication.
