The Baloch Raji Aajoi Sangar (BRAS), an alliance of Baloch nationalist armed groups, has claimed responsibility for an attack on a convoy of Pakistani military vehicles in Nushki district, alleging that seven military personnel were killed and several others injured.
In a statement issued to the media on Wednesday, BRAS spokesperson Baloch Khan said the attack took place on 17 August in the Kachki area of Nushki, near a Levies station.
According to the statement, BRAS fighters ambushed a convoy of Pakistani military vehicles, directly targeting three vehicles during the attack. The group claimed that seven military personnel were killed at the scene and more than eight others were seriously injured.
The spokesperson further claimed that the attackers shot down a military quadcopter during the operation.
BRAS said it was accepting responsibility for the attack and described the operation as part of its ongoing armed campaign. The group stated that its attacks would continue until what it described as the achievement of its political objectives and the withdrawal of Pakistani forces from Balochistan.
Pakistani authorities have not issued an official statement regarding the claims.
