Pakistani forces, coal trucks, and the residence of a government official were targeted in a series of attacks across Balochistan on Sunday, according to local sources.
In Kech district, unidentified gunmen attacked a Pakistani forces checkpoint early in the morning around 8 a.m. in the Zamuran Banbulo area.
Local sources reported gunfire and suggested that security personnel may have sustained losses. No group has claimed responsibility, although Baloch “pro-independence” armed groups frequently carry out attacks on forces in the region.
In Chamalang, unknown assailants set fire to three trucks, two of which were loaded with coal, while one was empty. Levies officials said the trucks were hit by gunfire before being set ablaze.
Meanwhile, in Turbat, a hand grenade was thrown at the residence of the Irrigation Department’s Executive Engineer in the Irrigation Colony. Police said the explosion caused no casualties and later cordoned off the area to begin an investigation.
