In a series of coordinated attacks across Balochistan, “pro-independence” armed groups targeted key infrastructure and companies, causing significant damage and disruption.

In the Rabi area of Naseerabad, insurgents destroyed a 24-inch gas pipeline that supplies the Uch Power Plant. The Baloch Republican Guards (BRG) claimed responsibility for the attack.

In a media statement, BRG spokesperson Dostain Baloch stated, “Our fighters planted explosives along the pipeline, which were detonated last night, completely halting the gas supply to the power plant.”

Meanwhile, in Kalat, the United Baloch Army (UBA) claimed responsibility for an attack on an oil and gas exploration company in the Jhukri area near Gazg.

According to UBA spokesperson Mazar Baloch, “Our fighters used rockets and automatic weapons to target the company’s operations on August 20th, resulting in significant casualties and financial losses.”

Mazar Baloch further said that on the following day, “A vehicle belonging to the same company was destroyed by a remote-controlled bomb, killing all five personnel on board.”

He claimed the attack was due to the presence of Chinese engineers within the company, warning, “Those involved in the exploitation of Balochistan’s natural resources under the oppressive state’s machinery will face similar consequences.”

In another incident in the Buleda area of Kech district, unidentified armed men attacked a construction company at around 9 a.m., setting vehicles and equipment on fire.

The attackers fled before police and security forces arrived. While no group has claimed responsibility for this attack, similar incidents in the past have been carried out by Baloch “pro-independence” armed groups.

Both the BRG and UBA advocate for Balochistan’s independence and have repeatedly expressed their opposition to what they describe as the “occupation” of Balochistan by Pakistani forces and the exploitation of the region’s resources.

These groups have vowed to continue their armed struggle, with BRG’s Dostain Baloch stating, “Our struggle for the liberation of Balochistan and its resources will continue, with occupying forces and their interests remaining prime targets.”

Government officials in Naseerabad and Kalat have yet to release detailed casualty figures or provide an assessment of the damage caused by the attacks.
