The Sindhudesh Revolutionary Army (SRA), a separatist group that wants Sindh to secede from Pakistan, has claimed responsibility for an attack on the election office of the Pakistan Muslim League Jamaat-ud-Dawah (PML-JUD) in Jamshoro, Sindh. The SRA said it rejects the upcoming elections, which it calls a ‘sham’ and a tool to enslave the Sindhi people.
The SRA accused the Pakistani state of using the elections to legitimize its control over Sindh and of supporting religious extremist groups like PML-JUD, Lashkar-i-Taeeba, Sipah-i-Sahaba, and Al-Badr, which it said are threatening the secular culture of Sindh. The SRA warned that it will not tolerate any such groups on Sindhi soil and that it will target them and the Pakistani state if they persisted in their activities in Sindh.
The SRA reaffirmed its commitment to fight for the complete independence of Sindh.
