The 8th Gwadar Book Fair was inaugurated on Wednesday by the Vice Chancellor of Gwadar University, Professor Dr. Abdul Razaq Sabir. The four-day event was attended by members of the Balochistan Assembly, including Member Balochistan Assembly Hamal Kalmati, Gwadar Port Authority’s Pasand Khan Baloch, former Director of Culture Balochistan Abdullah Baloch, and other prominent figures.

During the opening ceremony, attendees strongly condemned the Barkhan incident and called for the perpetrators to be punished and for transparent investigations to be conducted. The Gwadar Book Fair is featuring discussions and conversations on various topics, including scientific, literary, linguistic, political, social, cultural, and women’s issues.

The event is attracting poets, writers, artists, and authors from across Balochistan. Various publications have set up their stalls, and art galleries of different artists from Balochistan are on display, promoting the local art scene.

Member of Balochistan Assembly Mir Hamal Kalmati announced that a new building for Gwadar University has been approved, and every possible cooperation will be made for the betterment of educational institutions in the district. He urged students to focus on the principles of education and prepare themselves for future challenges.

The Gwadar Book Fair has attracted a significant number of women and gentlemen from all over Pakistan, including Balochistan. The district’s library, worth Rs. 14 crore, has also been launched this year, demonstrating the importance of education and literacy in the region.

The Gwadar Book Fair promises to be an exciting and informative event for all attendees, promoting education, culture, and art in the coastal city of Balochistan.
