Two missing persons were recovered while eight more were reported missing in the last two days from different areas of Balochistan.

According to reports, two forcibly detained men were released on Tuesday while two more went missing from Karachi city of Pakistan, and the Panjgur district of Balochistan.

The forcibly disappeared men were identified as Muhammad Riaz s/o Faqeer Muhammad and Muhammad Azum s/o Abdul Qadir.

It should be noted that Muhammad Riaz and Muhammad Azum had gone missing from Quetta, on November 21, 2017.

However, the unabated cases of enforced disappearances continue. On one hand, two forcibly disappeared men returned to their homes, while on the other hand, eight more went missing.

As per reports, on 7th February, Pakistani forces allegedly disappeared a man after arresting him from the Gulshan Mazdoor area of Karachi. The detainee has been identified as Aurangzaib s/o Master Siraj — a resident of Panjgur Sordo.

It is pertinent to mention the aforementioned person had already been a victim of enforced disappearance before this in June 2020 and then he was released after eight months.

While, another man Yahya Salam s/o Salam was abducted by armed men from Panjgur near Haji Naseer mosque, on Sunday. It is to be noted that this is the 3rd incident in Panjgur this month that armed men are abducting people at gunpoint.

According to local sources, armed militias which are commonly known as “death squads” formed by the Pakistan Army and its intelligence agencies, are involved in these enforced disappearances.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, six more people including two brothers were also reportedly abducted by Pakistani law enforcement agencies from the Awaran and Gwadar districts of Balochistan. They were subsequently moved to unknown locations by the forces, sources told TBP.

The two brothers missing from the Mashkay area of Awaran were identified as Dad Shah and Saeedullah, sons of Muhammad Yaqub.

While the other four men were detained during a raid conducted by Pakistani forces in the Jiwani Panwan area of district Gwadar on Wednesday. Their whereabouts remain unknown, local sources said.
