Pakistani security forces have allegedly abducted at least six persons from Dera Bugti region of Balochistan, on Tuesday.
According to details, Pakistani forces carried out a military operation in Uch town of Dera Bugti, where women and children were reportedly “harassed by security forces”, and six persons were allegedly abducted.
The abductees have been named as Angli son of Phogo Bugti, Haider son of Yara Bugti, Khandu son of Bari Bugti, Bharu son of Paind Bugti, Ali Murad son of Mendo Bugti and Liaqat son of Yara Bugti.
The term ‘abducted’ is widely used in Balochistan to connote arrests made by security forces as the arrested are not presented before court of the law, and instead kept in military camps.
Enforced disappearances in Balochistan continue unabated. Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP), an organisation striving for the recovery of missing persons, has been protesting against the enforced disappearances for over a decade in Balochistan and different parts of Pakistan.
