The Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) completed the 4178th day of its historical protest in Karachi. Workers of the Sindh Sujag and several lawyers visited the camp to express solidarity with the families of the Baloch missing persons. Rashid Hussain’s young niece and mother were also present in the camp. Mehlab Baloch, daughter of the missing Dr. Deen Muhammad Baloch, and several other students also visited the camp.
Addressing the gathering, Mama Qadeer Baloch, Vice-Chairman of the organization, said that the people these days have become dumb and deaf, despite living in a century of unprecedented technological innovation. He said that everyone is absorbed in their own lives – it is a rare prerogative to meet a relative or a family member these days.
He said that bringing the issue of the Baloch missing persons before the world is a significant step.
Mama Qadeer said that the New Year began in Pakistan with a series of military operations. By exercising aggression and carrying out violence in Panjgoor and its environs, the Pakistani forces conveyed a message to the world that the New Year only matters to the independent nations. The military operations in Bolan have continued unrestrained for six consecutive days – the desperate forces there are channeling their anger and frustration on forests by setting them on fire, he said.
