Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF), an armed organisation seeking outright independence of Balochistan, has claimed responsibility of high target attack on Pakistan army convoy. The incident that happened on Monday in Washuk killed Lt. Colonel Aamir Waheed and injured others.
The spokesman of BLF, Guharam Baloch, in a press statement claimed responsibility of the attack on Pakistan Army convoy. Guharam Baloch said, “Our fighters ambushed the convoy between Naag and Shingir area of Washuk”.
According to BLF, Lieutenant Colonel Aamir Waheed along six army personnel were killed, whereas, Lieutenant Colonel Shajee Ullah and several others received injuries in this attack.
BLF spokesman said, the army convoy was targeted when they were on their way from Naag to their main camp in Shingir.
Shingir army camp was built for protection of Chinese funded multi-billion project, China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Several villagers were forced to evacuate the area due to continuous military operations.
Guharam Baloch vowed to further accelerate their attacks on Pakistani forces.
Funeral:
On other hand funeral prayers for Lieutenant Colonel Amir Waheed were offered in his hometown Lahore on Tuesday.
According to Pakistani Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement, high-ranking military officials, including Corps Commander Lahore and others attended the funeral prayers.
