At least 10 people were killed and over 100 wounded by a truck bomb near a government hospital in Zabul area of Afghanistan on Thursday morning.
The blast, which detonated approximately at 6 a.m, severely damaged the hospital and surrounding offices buildings and houses.
A National Directorate of Security (NDS) office is located close to the hospital, but officials say no NDS employees were hurt in the incident.
Because the government hospital was the primary medical facility in Qalat, ambulances were called to transport victims to Kandahar province, while others were taken to local private hospitals, officials said.
Taliban claimed responsibility for the blast and said the target was the NDS office.
