A young Baloch author and poet has gone missing after he was picked up allegedly by Pakistani security forces from his house.

According to details, Raheem Zaam, who is a poet and novelist of Brahvi language, was forcibly disappeared after Pakistani security forces raided his house on 29th November 2018 in Killi Mengal Noshki.

Raheem Zaam is a well-known writer and is affiliated with Outhan culture academy, a literary body.

Tayyaba Baloch, the Vice Chairperson of Baloch Human Rights Organisation (BHRO), has condemned the incident and said on Twitter that the human rights violations in Balochistan have reached at a tragic point. “Instead of releasing missing persons more people are abducted on daily basis,” Tayyaba Baloch said.

Secretary General of BHRO also condemned Raheem Zaam’s abduction and said author of the book ‘Kana Bahisht’ was abducted by Pakistani security forces.

He said that family victims are already protesting against the abductions but Pakistani forces continue to forcibly disappear more Baloch students and others.

Balochistan is plagued by the enforced disappearances of Baloch youth and activists. However, recent instances of ‘women and children abductions’ have also been reported.

International campaign groups including Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International accuse Pakistani security forces as the perpetrators of ‘illegal abductions in Balochistan’.
