At least three foreign members of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist group have been arrested in Kabul city, the Afghan Intelligence said on Wednesday.
According to a statement released by the National Directorate of Security (NDS), the detained ISIS members were looking to carry out a series of attacks in the city, Khaama News reported.
The statement further added that the detained individuals originally hail from Turkey, Tajikistan, and Pakistan.
Disclosing the identities of the detained ISIS members, NDS said Noorullah from Turkey, Noor Mohammad from Tajikistan, and Mohammad Afzal from Pakistan, were looking to plan and coordinate attacks in Kabul city.
The National Directorate of Security also added that five Taliban group members have also been arrested from Kabul city during separate operations.
The anti-government armed militant and terrorist groups, including ISIS loyalists and Taliban militants have not commented in this regard so far.
