BSAC in a statement has condemned use of state force against peaceful student protestors, who were protesting against hike in tuition fees in Peshawar university.

According to a statement released by Baloch Students Action Committee (BSAC), a student organization that campaigns for student rights, the use of force to disperse peaceful students from protesting against exorbitant fees was condemned.

“Mostly institutes in the country do not have the basic facilities and when students raise their voice against those issues, they face brutality by the administration,” BSAC spokesperson said.

BSAC has also condemned the circumstances due to which a final year chemical engineering student of NFC Faisalabad, Saifullah Baloch, committed suicide. Saifullah committed suicide yesterday apparently because of the ‘appalling behavior against him by a teacher and the student administration’.

“Reasons behind the death of another Baloch student, Qutub Rind, in Lahore were also similar. Baloch students have been facing discrimination in different institutes of Punjab and such incidents are destroying the future of Baloch students,” BSAC added.

BSAC appealed the authorities to play their role to stop occurrence of such events in educational institutions.
