An explosion in a coal mine in Harnai left at least four workers trapped.
According to details received by The Balochistan Post, an explosion in a mine resulted in collapse of the mine trapping at least 4 miners in Harnai region of Balochistan on Friday.
‘Four to five miners were working at the time of the explosion that was caused due to methane gas accumulation,’ authorities said.
According to sources, a rescue operation is underway to get trapped miners out of the mine. Ambulances and medical teams have also arrived at the scene
Earlier this month, at least 18 people died in different accidents in mining sector in Balochistan, out of which 15 died in an explosion in Quetta’s Sanjidi area.

Many international organisations working for worker rights have strongly condemned Pakistan for the complete absence of an effective occupational health and safety policy in the country, which has resulted in the deaths of a large number of workers in industries, particularly in coal mines.
