At least two people have been killed in restive Dera Bugti district where a full scale military operation is underway since yesterday.

According to information received by The Balochistan Post, Murad Baksh and his son Rindho Bugti were killed when Pakistani gunship helicopters pounded their home in Qambar Lango area of Dera Bugti today.

Yesterday, news of a military operation was reported in the media. Pakistani military simultaneously carried out the operation in Saarth Aaf, Singsila, Qambar Lango and Zen Koh.

According to local sources, different areas were cordoned off where no civilians were allowed to enter or leave.

Dera Bugti has seen intense fighting between Pakistani Army and Baloch ‘freedom fighters’ since veteran Baloch leader Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti was killed in a military operation in 2006.
