Armed fighters attacked a construction company at Ziarat Cross in Balochistan on Thursday, destroying 14 vehicles and pieces of heavy machinery, local sources said.
The attack took place near Khan Baba along the Quetta-Zhob highway, where eight dump trucks, two CAT 966F loaders, a Hitachi EX-400 excavator, a trailer, a bitumen distributor and a water tanker were destroyed.
A Pakistani military convoy and the security detail of the Harnai deputy commissioner were also attacked at Ziarat Cross earlier in the day.
The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for the attack on the military convoy, saying its fighters targeted four vehicles and destroyed two of them, including a military truck.
BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch claimed that 18 Pakistani military personnel were killed and five injured personnel escaped, adding that the group’s fighters seized weapons from the convoy and that its Fateh Squad participated in the operation.

No group had claimed responsibility for the attack on the construction company at the time of publication.
