Abdul Qudoos Zarakzai and his 17-year-old daughter Aqsa were detained from a residential quarter in Khuzdar’s Civil Colony and moved to an undisclosed location, family sources said.
According to the family, personnel of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and plainclothes officials jointly raided the residential quarter at around 10:00pm on August 5.
The family said the personnel entered the house, harassed women and other residents, subjected them to physical assault and searched the premises.
During the raid, Abdul Qudoos Zarakzai and his daughter Aqsa were taken away.
The family said the personnel did not provide any reason for their detention, nor were they informed of any case or legal proceedings against them.
No information about Abdul Qudoos Zarakzai or Aqsa has been provided since they were taken away, and the family has not been told where they were moved.
The affected family appealed to human rights organisations, the legal community, political parties and civil society to take notice of the case and play a role in ensuring the safe recovery of Abdul Qudoos Zarakzai and his daughter.
Pakistani authorities had not issued a statement on the reported enforced disappearance at the time of publication.
