A family in Quetta has reported the disappearance of a 14-year-old student following his alleged detention by Pakistani forces personnel, while the longest running protest against enforced disappearances in Balochistan continued for its 6,191st day.

According to family members, Ahmed Aqif Baloch, 14, son of Fazal Rehman and a ninth-grade student from Killi Qambrani on Qambrani Road in Quetta, was taken from his home at around 3 p.m. on 11 June 2026. The family alleges that personnel from the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and the Frontier Corps (FC) detained him and transferred him to an undisclosed location.

The claims could not be independently verified, and no official statement regarding the case was available at the time of publication.

Meanwhile, a protest camp organised by the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons outside the Quetta Press Club continued for its 6,191st consecutive day. The camp was reportedly led by executive committee member Niaz Mohammad.

According to VBMP, relatives of two other missing men, Mohammed Hashim Nichari and Yasir Ahmed Nichari, met with the organisation’s chairman, Nasrullah Baloch, and provided details regarding their cases.

The families stated that Mohammed Hashim Nichari, son of Abdul Qadir, and Yasir Ahmed Nichari, son of Munir Ahmed, were allegedly taken from their home in Killi Faizabad, Sariab, Quetta, during the night of 6 June by personnel from the CTD and other state agencies. They said the two men were subsequently moved to an undisclosed location.

Relatives said they had not been informed of the reasons for the detentions and that neither individual had been produced before a court, leaving family members concerned about their whereabouts and legal status.

During the meeting, Nasrullah Baloch said the organisation would continue to raise the cases of Mohammed Hashim Nichari, Yasir Ahmed Nichari and other missing persons with relevant authorities and institutions responsible for addressing such complaints. He described the issue of enforced disappearances as a matter of concern and called for efforts to ensure the safe recovery of those reported missing.

The organisation also urged authorities to clarify the whereabouts of Ahmed Aqif Baloch, Mohammed Hashim Nichari and Yasir Ahmed Nichari, and to address the concerns of their families.
